CONROE, TX – Six longtime residents of Montgomery County recently launched Third Coast Organic Foods, a certified organic food manufacturing company, offering a variety of organic wine dressings without sugar.
These delicious and healthy dressings come in five flavors: Raspberry Wine, Lemon Mustard, Classic Red Wine, Italian Balsamic and High Pepper. By design, they have a very light texture and taste, so they won’t overload the natural flavors of the salad ingredients. Each one is made from organic and non-GMO ingredients, with no added sugar.
The family, a brother and sister with their respective spouses and adult children, not quite ready to fully retire, had an idea that was launched when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. At the time, Brother John Massey was ready to cut his part-time work schedule while his wife Therisa was ready to retire after 32 years of study. John’s sister, Kathy Sanders and her husband Steve had both retired several years earlier from their respective professions. Although limited to travel and local outings due to COVID-19, family members saw an opportunity to stay active while pursuing a love of good food and created a range of healthy and organic food products without sugar with all the taste and none of the guilt.
Armed with two decades of food manufacturing knowledge as well as health, nonprofit and education background, they set out to create Third Coast Organic Foods early on. from last year.
With the company slogan âTo your health! Family members are delighted to have created these delicious, high-quality natural food products to help people lead healthier lifestyles. Organic products do not contain any toxic chemicals (such as synthetic pesticides, herbicides containing arsenic, chemical food additives such as flavors, colors and preservatives, antibiotics, synthetic hormones and industrial solvents) . In addition to the absence of artificial chemicals, “organic” means not genetically modified (Non-GMO), and not having used ionizing irradiation, which can cause free radicals and the elimination of vitamins. The USDA organic seal found on all certified organic products ensures that the food is “whole” and automatically GMO-free.
Partner Kathy Sanders notes, âI have enjoyed starting this new business with my family over the past year. Obtaining our USDA Organic Certification was a tedious one-year process, but we did it! During this year we have succeeded in producing a product ready to be marketed. We take pride in our delicious dressings, which are carefully hand-wrapped, and can’t wait to see where the future takes us.
After the initial e-commerce online, Sanders said the group aims to diversify its offerings, such as gift wrap, marinades and sugar-free cocktail mixers, and eventually have a presence in local farmers’ markets and grocery stores in the region.
The family-owned organic food manufacturing plant operates from their new commercial kitchen located in South Conroe, in the northeast area of ââI-45 and the freeway. 242 just north of The Woodlands.
